Our Knee Specialist

Dr Tan graduated from the NUS Faculty of Medicine where he obtained a Masters of Medicine (Orthopaedics). He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and has also received specialist training from Professor Andreas Imhoff, of the Department of Sports Orthopaedics at the Technical University of Munich in Germany.

With more than a decade of experience in sports surgery and exercise medicine, Dr Tan has treated athletes from the Singapore National Teams and professional footballers from the Singapore Premier League and the Young Lions.

Dr Tan is the Principal Investigator of tissue engineering (bone, meniscus, and tendon) projects that have been awarded grants by the National Medical Research Council. He also frequently collaborates with scientists from Nanyang Technological University, Technical University of Munich, A*Star, Osteopore and Trendlines Medical Singapore.

Dr Tan also has a passion for teaching and is appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU). In addition, he has published several original research articles on the knee and shoulder.

Dr Tan is fluent in English, Mandarin, Hokkien, Teochew, and Malay; and is committed to providing tailored, specialist knee care for his patients.
